The Knoxville Boys Golf Squad got off to a good start yesterday beating South Central Conference rival Clarke 165-204. Cam Arkema and Ryan Davis tied for overall medalist honors…each scoring a 39, which was three over par on the nine hold meet. Coach Brian Barkey tells KNIA/KRLS Sports while his team is young he hopes they will be improved by the end of the season. The Knoxville Girls also were in action in the meet and finished second in a triangular meet with Clarke shooting a 226, Knoxville 252 and West Central Valley carding a 287. Maggie Leavitt was third overall with a 53 and Taylor Harding scored a 58 for fifth overall. Coach Matt Heston told KNIA/KRLS Sports Harding recovered from several tough situations.
