The Knoxville City Council met in special session on Monday.

The council interviewed four individuals who formally entered their names for consideration of the vacant city council position. Jeffery Sharp, Jason Everly, Dylan Morse and Megan Suhr were each individually interviewed in twenty minute time slots during Monday’s special session. At the end of the night, the race came down to Dylan Morse and Megan Suhr as the top two candidates. Suhr was eventually chosen as the candidate to fill the vacant position.

Suhr tells KNIA/KRLS News she saw an opportunity to serve the people of Knoxville during the temporary period until the elections in November. She feels confident that she is up to date on the what is happening in Knoxville and is honored to serve on the council for the temporary period. Suhr is undecided on whether she will be on the ballot in November.

The council will now meet during their regular meeting time on Monday, May 1st, in which the council will look to approve the appointment of Suhr to the Knoxville City Council.
