The Knoxville School Board is ready to move forward with their new member.

Vickie Reed will replace long time board member Leslie Miller and will fill the position vacated by Miller until the next school board elections in September. With the school board elections in September the five other candidates who were not chosen by the board, along with other Knoxville residents will have a chance to run for a school board position.Knoxville School’s Superintendent Cassi Pearson tells KNIA/KRLS News two years remain on Leslie Miller’s vacated spot and will be up for election in September. Pearson adds, board members Mike Moats and Andrew Schmidt will both be up for reelection for a four year term but only Andrew Schmidt will seek reelection. The next school board meeting is scheduled for May 8th, at which time Vickie Reed will be sworn in and take her position on the board.
