With fresh legs and the hometown advantage, the No. 2 in 2A Pella Lady Dutch soccer team edged out ranked-in-1A Nevada 2-1 to earn a measure of revenge for Pella’s only loss of the season.

The Lady Dutch struck first in the 14th minute, with Grace Held setting up Katie Vander Molen for the first tally. Pella scored again four-and-a-half minutes later from Ciara Buchheit, with Held earning another assist.

Nevada cracked the score board by sneaking a goal with under a minute left until half. The two then traded possessions in the second half, with the Lady Dutch dominating the ball in the first twenty minutes and Nevada earning multiple opportunities to tie the game, including a chance with time expiring, but the girls in green hung on.

Pella is 10-1 continues the toughest portion of the schedule Monday when they travel to ranked Newton.
