As part of cost cutting measures and due to economic incentives continued by the state, the Pella School Board elected to extend sharing agreements with the Knoxville and Lynnville-Sully districts at recent meetings.

Pella and Knoxville share a transportation director, human resources director, and business office person and Lynnville-Sully receives maintenance assistance from Pella schools as well.

Superintendent Greg Ebeling says Pella Schools share personnel as a means to not only save money, but receive extra funding for all schools involved.

Ebeling says they’ve implemented these policies more frequently as annual general fund increases have declined over the past few years.

He is also encouraged by the efforts of all districts involved in the agreements currently in place, and his hopeful the sharing agreements continue to be successful.
