The Pella School Board focused on construction at their meeting this week.
The board approved a variety of contract change orders to projects at Lincoln Elementary, Jefferson Intermediate, and the Pella High School. An update about the ongoing status of work at Pella High School was presented, with most timelines remaining on track for completion late this summer. New furniture and equipment was ordered for the facility. The board also received reports from each of the building administrators, which included extensive discussion about a kindergarten roundup and the impact of the Pre-K program. Handbook changes surrounding attendance had a first reading approved as well. A sharing agreement with Knoxville for Human Resources, Business, and Transportation Management was also continued.
