After five years at the head of the Pleasantville Trojan football program, head coach Gabe Bakker has resigned and is taking the same position at Clear Creek Amana.

Coach Bakker brought the Trojan program from 3-6 in his first season to a state ranked program in his last two seasons, making the playoffs in the last three. The Trojans improved in every season under coach Bakker, highlighted by a 9-2 record and a first round playoff victory in 2015. Bakker leaves with an overall coaching record of 29-20, and tells KNIA/KRLS Sports that leaving is bittersweet, but it will be a big endeavor. A replacement has not yet been named, and a search is currently underway.
