Despite being shorthanded for prom, the Pella Lady Dutch track team took home another victory Saturday in the 90th annual Oskaloosa Relays.

Head Coach Dak Rasmussen tells KNIA/KRLS News the juniors and seniors competed until midday, when the freshman and sophomores took over and helped the Dutch remain perfect in team meets so far this season.

Pella received 1st place finishes from Elisabeth Jansen in the Shotput, Paighton Malek in the Long Jump, Emily Holterhouse in the High Jump, Metsje Miller in the 100 and 200 meter dash, and the Sprint Medley Relay.

The Pella boys were also shorthanded, and finished fourth as a team. Tyson Wassenaar swept up the throwing events for the Little Dutch. Nick Bernhagen was second in the 3200, Josh Van Dusseldorp was runner up in the 200, and Nick DeJong finished behind Wassenaar in the shotput.

After their prom Friday night, the Eagles boys track team earned the top prize in the Class B races at Oskaloosa for a victory with a team score of 117. Pella Christian had first place finishes from Grant Dunsbergen in the 1600, Eddie Pringle in the 200 meters, and with their 4 x 400 team.

Pella Christian’s girls track and field athletes were edged out by Sigourney in the class B field, scoring 128 points. They did take top honors in a number of events, including: Erica Nikkel in the Long Jump, Morgan Fopma in the High Jump, Lizzy Van Manen in the Shotput, Chloe Morgan in the 400 meter dash, Mary Kate Bandstra in the 200, as well as the 4×100 and 4×400 relay teams.
