Knoxville Softball Drops Season Opener To Newton

The Knoxville Softball Squad fell to Newton in the season opener last night 10-3. The Panthers got eight hits on the night led by Katie Keitges going 2/3 while Alex Griggs doubled for her only hit. Griggs and Shaye Nichols supplied Knoxville’s two R-B-I on the night. In the circle, Rielly Finarty took the loss going five innings giving up nine runs on 14 hits, two walks and two strikeouts. Knoxville is 0-1 on the season and will be back in action tonight hosting Oskaloosa.

Pella Christian Soccer Kicks Off Boys Playoffs with W Over Blue Demons

Pella High Baseball, Softball Teams Fall Short in Season Openers

Tenth-ranked Carlisle knocked off number five Pella last night in a rematch of last year’s class 3-A baseball semifinal game, 11-10. Meanwhile, the Pella softball team also suffered an opening night defeat on its home field, 6-2 to Ballard.
