Six Central College athletes were named to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association All-Central Region team.

To receive all-region distinction, an athlete must be ranked in the top five in the region for an individual event at the end of the regular season or be part of a relay team ranked in the top three.

Sprinter Hope Heitman was honored in the 200-meter and 400-meter dashes. She’ll run the 400 at the NCAA Division III Outdoor Track & Field Championships this weekend. Lorell Stuht earned all-region the hammer throw.

Four male athletes were cited in their individual events that they will compete in at the national meet. Senior Logan Mulford and freshman Will Daniels both secured a spot in the high jump. In the 3,000-meter steeplechase, Central is represented by Mark Fairley. Decathlete Ryan Kruse also earned all-region in the javelin throw, but did not make the national meet in the event.

Heitman, Mulford, Daniels, Fairley and Kruse are headed to Geneva, Ohio for nationals, which starts Thursday and ends Saturday.
