Program records continue to fall for the No. 11 Pella Christian Girls soccer team.

The Eagles won a record sixth game in a row and added to their season record of now 13 wins in a 3-nil victory over Des Moines Christian last night. Pella Christian dominated the Lions in a rematch from an overtime thriller that opened the 2017 season to sweep the series against their rivals.

Head Coach Mike Buchheit says playing Des Moines Christian twice–at the beginning and ending of the year, has proven to be a great test to see how far the girls have come.

“I just thought overall the girls played a really smart game,” Buchheit syas. “We made some good adjustments at halftime to attack some things we weren’t necessarily going after in the first half, but overall, the girls are just continuing to engage and really learn and put some things together.”

Mary Kate Bandstra, who knocked in the game-winning goal for PC against Oskaloosa this past Tuesday, struck first for the Eagles early, and Lindsey Breon and Annika Terpstra each found tallies as well.

Pella Christian is 13-4 and will look to extend their season records into the playoffs Tuesday, when they host PCM in a rematch from a 5-0 win on May 13th to kick off the Class 1A Regional tournament.
