The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.
The board began the meeting approving a resolution to take part in a national initiative called “Stepping Up,” which is aimed at reducing the number of incarcerated people with mental illness from being recycled back into the jail system after they are released back into society.
The board then held three public hearings of which two were to rezone properties for the construction of a building for Nearwood Winery located at 1699 Highway 14 in Knoxville as well as a storage building for Two Rivers Co-op at their current Otley location. The third public hearing was to consider a resolution of the adoption of the Marion County fiscal year 2017 budget amendment. The board approved all three resolutions following the public hearings.
The board also approved the resignation of Dawn Allspach-Kline from the Senior Nutrition Program with an effective date of June 30th.
