The Marion County Board of Supervisors will meet in special session tomorrow.

The board will be discussing the recent legalization of fireworks and what preventive actions Marion County can take for the safety of its residents. The legal sale period of fireworks across the state begins on June 1st and runs through July 8th. Under the new law, local governments may forbid the use of fireworks, but not the sale of them. The Board invites public input prior to a decision on whether Marion County shall ban the private use of fireworks. The meeting is open to the public and will begin at 9 a.m. and take place at the Marion County Courthouse.
