Pella’s boys golf season came to a close yesterday with a fifth place finish at the district tournament at Edmundson Park in Oskaloosa.

Williamsburg won the five team event with a team score of 314, nine strokes ahead of runner-up Mount Pleasant. Pella shot 343.

The low man for the Little Dutch was senior Ryan Van Wyk, who’s stellar multi-sport career in the green and white came to a close with an 81. Trey Wood shot 84, Luke Galaezzi carded an 87 and John Oltman’s 91 was Pella’s other counting score.

Lucas Scherf of Grinnell won the individual district title with a dazzling three-under par 67.

The Pella Christian boys golf team gets its crack at qualifying for the state tournament today as the Eagles head to a district meet at Lake Panorama Golf Course.
