A Pella native is the third-highest ranking official in the U.S. Attorney’s Office.
Rachel Brand, a 1991 Pella Christian graduate, has been confirmed as the Associate Attorney General. U.S. Senator Chuck Grassley is Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee, and says Brand will do well in the role.
“Iowans can be proud that one of our own will soon be working on behalf of the American people at the highest levels of the U.S. Department of Justice. Her distinguished legal career and impressive educational background will serve the department well and I look forward to working with her in my capacity as Chairman of the Senate Judiciary Committee,” Grassley says.
Brand has previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Office of Legal Policy in the George W. Bush administration and was appointed by President Barack Obama to serve on the Privacy and Civil Liberties Oversight Board.
