The Eagles, Little Dutch, and Mustangs battled the warmest day of the spring thus far to wrap up the golf regular season at the annual Pella Christian Invitational Monday.

Some of the best teams in the area highlighted a loaded field at Bos Landen Golf Course ahead of Friday’s District meets.

Pella Christian finished with a 369 and 11th place among a group of teams slated for postseason action at their home tournament. The Eagles were paced by an 86 from Graham Howerzyl, 89 from Caleb Nikkel, and 92 from Kenden Veenstra. Howerzyl and Veenstra despite the difficult day on the scorecard, the meet is great preparation for when they compete as individuals in the postseason this Friday.

PCM placed 4th with a 335, with Dayton Boell placing 10th individually carding an 81, Ryan Hill finished with an 82,m and Reed Worth shot an 83.

Pella’s district-bound boys squad carded a 348 to take 6th overall, led by an 82 from Senior Ryan Van Wyk, and Freshmen Luke Galeazzi (87) and Trey Wood (88).

Class 3A state-championship contender Williamsburg–a team the Little Dutch will battle for a state-berth against on Friday, took top honors with a 308. Little Hawkeye Conference foe Newton scored 320 to be the runners-up.

Pella travels to Edmundson Golf Course in Oskaloosa Friday, while the entire PCM team and Pella Christian’s Howerzyl and Veenstra head to Lake Panorama for District playoff action.
