The Summer Reading Program for the Webb Shadle Memorial Library in Pleasantville begins today.

Children will be given reading logs to keep track of how much they read during the summer. The library will also host fun events for children of all ages to take part in during the summer. Library Director Joellen Collins tells KNIA/ KRLS News it’s hard to believe just how many things the library has going on throughout the summer. Collins says she knows there are children in the community who don’t get to take vacations so it’s wonderful to be able to provide something for those children. The Summer Reading Program will run until August 5th, at which time reading logs will be returned and participants will have a chance at winning an iPad Mini for their reading accomplishments.
