A parks and recreation public discussion was held Tuesday night as a part of the city of Knoxville’s comprehensive plan.

The discussion covered a variety of topics pertaining to improving the city’s park and recreation amenities. One topic covered was the residents of Knoxville’s overall mindset and what could be done to potentially fund improvements to the city. Residents voiced their displeasure with the community’s unwillingness to make improvements because of potential property tax implications. Representatives with JEO Consulting Group facilitated the discussion and will use the information gathered to help form goals the city can use to make improvements towards parks and recreation in Knoxville.
