Local law enforcement as well as fire and EMS agencies recently participated in “Rescue Task Force” training in Knoxville.

Instructor with the Government Training Institute, Gene Norton who helped conduct the training tells KNIA/KRLS News “Rescue Task Force” training teaches first responders the best combination of police, fire and EMS elements, to go in after a threat is neutralized or contained to allow for the agencies to work together to get casualties treated as soon as possible. Knoxville Police Department, Knoxville Fire and Rescue, Knoxville Rural Township Fire Department, Pleasantville Fire Department, Clay Township Fire Department, Pella Police Department, Pella Ambulance, Marion County Emergency Management and the Marion County Sheriff’s Office all took part in the training. The training was conducted over a three day span which took place at East Elementary in Knoxville.
