Local law enforcement as well as fire and EMS agencies will be participating in “Rescue Task Force” training from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. starting today and running through Friday, May 26th.

The training will take place at East Elementary in Knoxville. Marion County Emergency Management Coordinator Jeff Anderson tells KNIA/KRLS News residents in the area should not be alarmed at the increased presence of public safety officials in the immediate area of the school grounds. The public is asked to not enter the school building. At various times throughout the training, class participants will be outside the building on school grounds, and some will be seen carrying weapons. Do not be alarmed, the weapons are for training only. The Knoxville Police Department and Marion County Emergency Management wish to thank the Knoxville School District for the use of the facility for the valuable training.
