Sam Brouwer scored with just 23 seconds left in the first half, then again 10 minutes into the second half, and that was all of the scoring in Pella Christian’s 2-0 victory over Carlisle last night in boys soccer.

The Wildcats played 10 men behind the ball trying to prevent the Eagles from getting on the scoreboard, but Brouwer finally broke through for the two goals, with assists from Lucas Jansen and Skylar Doland.

Coach Gerritt Brouwer told KNIA/KRLS sports last night that the win did not come without some disappointment, as Kyle Fynaardt severely injured his ankle in the match and his status moving forward is in question.

The Eagles are 8-5 on the season.
