A group in Pella aims to test their endurance to raise funds for a cause on the downtown Pella square.

The 2nd annual Tour de Toren begins at 4 p.m. on Friday, June 2nd and continue for 24 hours until June 3.

Wes Chaplin says a group of bike riders will pedal on stationary bikes throughout the day to raise funds for Bethany Christian Services.

Leah Garland with the ministry says they aim to not only facilitate adoptions at Bethany, but also aim to ease the transition for families with unplanned pregnancies.

“One of the main goals of our ministry ius just to reach out there–we will see typically about 100 expectant moms and unplanned pregnancies each year,” Garland says. “And out of that, we will probably only do 10 to 15 adoptions. So the majority of clients we are seeing are there for just for a stronger beginning for their baby.”

Garland says they meet with the expectant mothers and fathers to help ease the process prior to and following birth.
