The 2017 Marion County Fair Queen Competition will be held today at First United Methodist Church in Knoxville.

The event will begin at 7 p.m. with Paige Busick, Ashlee Dethrow, Kaley Iddings, Alexia Lepley, Natalie Montgomery, and Kortney VanderLinden all competing for the chance to be named the 2017 Marion County Fair Queen. KNIA/KRLS Program Director Spencer Dirks will be emceeing the event. Last years winner and the 2016 Marion County Fair Queen Paige Anderson tells KNIA/KRLS News the candidates will do individual interviews as well as a group interview and will answer questions on stage relating to Marion County and the fair. The winner will preside over the Marion County Fair from July 14th through July 20th, and will also represent Marion County at the Iowa State Fair in August.
