A six run bottom of the second inning would not be enough for the Knoxville Softball team to hold on against Centerville in a 19-6 loss.

The Panthers big inning came on the backs of a two RBI double by Anna Sanderson and a two RBI single by Maddy Findlay to get a six run lead. The Panthers held the Redettes scoreless until disaster struck in the top of the fifth. The Redette bats awakened to a 14 batter-13 run inning, where the first seven batters reached base. Centerville then added six more in the next two innings as insurance. Reilly Finarty took the loss in the circle, while Sanderson paced the offense with a 1-3 night with a walk, and Findlay was 1-4. Interim Head Coach Hayley Freestone told KNIA/KRLS Sports after the game, you don’t want to remember the score from this game, you just want to take a lesson from it and move on. The Panthers fall to 10-11 on the season, and will travel to Keokuk on Wednesday.
