Pella Christian’s Mike Buchheit and Pella’s Mark Howard have been tabbed as District Coaches of the Year by the Iowa Girls Coaches Association.

Buchheit was named the class 1-A Southeast District Coach of the Year after piloting the Eagles to an all-time Pella Christian best 15-5 record.

Rebakah Hortsman of the Eagles was named to the class 1-A Southeast 2nd team.

Howard was named the 2-A Central District Coach of the Year after leading the Lady Dutch to a 16-2 mark.

A whopping nine Pella players were named to the class 2-A Central team. Bellara Huang, Grace Held, Katie Vander Molen and Kiara Bradley were first team picks, while Alice Lickteig, Caroline Bradley, Chloe Griffin, Ciara Buchheit and Erica Brossard were named to the second team.
