Four men and one woman from Central College competed in last month’s NCAA outdoor track & field championships.

The good news is that four of those five are back – Will Daniels, Ryan Kruse and Mark Fairley for the men, as well as women’s sprinter Hope Hietman.

The bad news is that the one that’s graduating is a big loss – men’s high jumper Logan Mullford.

He was a three-time national runner up between indoors and outdoors and a four-time all-American. Central Coach Joe Dunham says that high jumping is a very finicky event, and Mullford handled that extremly well.

“He didn’t compete to his ultimate ability in that last meet, but as a high jumper you normally don’t. And he did three times. In very high pressure situations, he competed at such high levels.”

Tonight on the Central College Radio Coaches Corner, Trevor Castle sits down with Coach Dunham for a complete recap of the women’s and men’s track and field season for the Dutch. The show starts tonight at 6pm on 92.1 KRLS.
