First responders, street crews, and MidAmerican Energy staff worked all night in Knoxville, clearing storm damage and restoring power.

Shortly after the storm, nearly 1,000 people in the county were without power, with most of them in Knoxville. MidAmerican crews report most of the outage was caused by one downed power line and transformer damage. Other damage was primarily to lines running to individual houses. Knoxville Fire Chief Jim Mitchell tells KNIA/KRLS News fire, police, and Emergency Management responded to thirty two reports of trees down in the city. Mitchel says, the department responded to one transformer fire and close to seven powerlines on the ground. The departments worked to locate damage, block roads where power lines and trees were down, while street crews worked to clear the streets. Cleanup continues this morning. The city of Knoxville is asking residents to place tree limbs on the curb in front of their residence and the city will pick up the limbs next week. The city will only pick up limbs that are placed on the curb and will not pick up anything from alley ways.
