Dropping seven of their last nine contests, the Pella Christian Baseball team is looking to right the ship tonight against conference leader Indianola.

After a promising start to the campaign, the Eagles have mustered several comeback attempts that came up just short last week.

Head Coach Jeff Bruxvoort says he’s hopeful the team continues to learn from the tough losses and will be stronger for it.

“Tough conference games are still on our schedule, but we have to take each experience and learn from it, knowing that we’re going to run into a few of those experiences when we get to district play. We have to know that we’re a good baseball team and we’re going to bring it when the districts start.”

Pella Christian will play two against a 18-4 Indians that has mowed down Little Hawkeye Conference competition and has won nine of their last ten, including a 6-0 shutout of the Eagles on June 5th.

The Eagles are also traveling to Indianola for softball and enter tonight’s games leading the conference over Indianola, who has a conference record of 10-3 to the Eagles 9-2. Pella Christian shutout the conference newcomers 1-0 on June 5th.

Game two of tonight’s varsity baseball doubleheader will be broadcast live on 92.1 KRLS, with pregame starting at approximately 7:15 p.m.
