During the Knoxville City Council meeting on Monday the council held a discussion regarding the future of the Tourism Commission.

The discussion was held after the council was informed the commission did not have enough members to continue and had voted unanimously to disband. City Manager Aaron Adams tells KNIA/KRLS News the direction the city staff received from the council was for an ordinance disbanding the commission to be placed on the next city council agenda to be addressed at the next city council meeting. The next city council meeting is scheduled for Thursday, June 29th during which discussion regarding the commission will continue. The main topic of Monday’s discussion will be where the money that is budgeted for the commission will be used.
