The Knoxville City Council will meet in regular session Monday.

The council will look to approve second consideration while possibly waiving third consideration to adopt an ordinance banning the use of fireworks within city limits. The council will consider rescheduling the next city council meeting form July 3rd to June 29th because of the 4th of July holiday. The council will consider approval for two tourism grant requests. The first request is for $1,000 for the Knoxville Chamber of Commerce for the shuttle bus to be used during Nationals. The second request is for $1,000 to help with advertising for the Peace Tree Brewing Company’s Brews and Muse event in September. The council will look to approve salaries and wages for appointed officers and non-collective bargaining unit employees as well as discuss possible employee title changes. The council will hear a request from Fire Chief Jim Mitchell for the council to approve the purchase of uniform shirts for $1,500.00 using Knoxville Fire Department memorial funds. City Manager Aaron Adams will also give a presentation on the City of Knoxville’s Long Term Planning. The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. and will be held at the Municipal Building Council Chambers.
