The Knoxville City Council will meet in regular session today.

The council will consider approval for the appointment of Jodi Bellon to City Clerk. The council will consider repealing the tourism advisory commission. They will also consider the approval of a resolution for the final plat for the North Harlan addition to the city. The council will consider a resolution supporting the Knoxville Economic Development Commission’s application for Iowa Economic Development Authority Workforce Housing Tax Credits for the North Harlan addition. The KEDC has acquired the property on North Harlan Street, and is in the process of subdividing the property into five individual lots for the purpose of developing five modestly-priced single family homes. The KEDC will be applying for the State of Iowa Workforce Housing Tax Credits and the sales tax rebate on construction materials. The tax credits and the rebate will be used to reduce the selling prices of the houses, therefore making them more affordable for Knoxville residents. The council will also consider approval for a resolution in support of the Knoxville Public Library Expansion and Renovation Project, while also considering the approval for street closures for the library’s Outdoor Day. The meeting will begin at 6:15 p.m. and will be held at the Municipal Building Council Chambers.
