The Knoxville Softball squad defeated Chariton 4-3 on Thursday after taking the lead late in the game when Katie Keitges scored the go ahead run on a wild pitch in the top of the seventh inning. The Panthers took the early lead in the first inning when Maddy Findley singled to score Emery Neer. Chariton would tie the game in the bottom of the sixth, before Knoxville retook the lead. Anna Sanderson, Lucy Olson, Findley, Shaye Nichols, and Hannah Hauschildt all had one hit for Knoxville. Rielly Finarty got the win going 6 1/3 innings allowing three runs, cattering eight hits, four strikeouts and four walks. Knoxville is now 12-17 on the season and 4-7 in the South Central Conference. The Panthers will conclude the regular season with a trip to Davis County tonight.
