Recently, the Knoxville City Council voted to ban the use of fireworks within city limits.

The Knoxville ban came after the Marion County Board of Supervisors voted to restrict the usage of fireworks to July 4th between the hours of 6 p.m. to 11 p.m. Earlier this week, the Pella City Council voted to continue banning the use of fireworks in the city of Pella year-round. Pleasantville has also enacted a fireworks ordinance. The Pleasantville ordinance states that no person shall use, explode, or discharge any consumer fireworks on days other than July 4th, between the hours of 12:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m., and December 31st between the hours of 12:00 p.m. continuing through 1:00 a.m. on January 1st. Melcher-Dallas will restrict the use of fireworks from July 1st to July 8th between the hours of 9 a.m. and 11 p.m. and during the New Year’s holiday from midnight to 1 a.m. on January 1st. The city of Bussey will not create a city ordinance regarding fireworks and will instead adhere to the Marion County restrictions.
