Maj. Gen. Timothy Orr, the Adjutant General of the Iowa National Guard, visited the Knoxville National Guard Armory and spoke with soldiers this past Friday.

Maj. Gen. Orr tells KNIA/KRLS News every year he tries to get to all the armories in the state and he wants to make sure the men and women serving in Knoxville have the capability and capacity to do their jobs. According to Maj. Gen. Orr, Knoxville’s Armory is something to take pride in. He says he can tell there is pride in the unit and the armory isn’t just a good one but a great one. Maj. Gen. Orr says the Knoxville Armory helps maintain vehicles the Iowa National Guard uses for different missions, and without the maintenance done at the armory it would be hard for the guard to accomplish any of their missions.
