This summer VerMeer Development Inc. will be breaking ground on SpringView, the first subdivision to be developed in Pleasantville in almost two decades.

The property is located on the Northwest corner of the Pleasantville city limits just off Highway 5.

SpringView will have has 24 lots on which single family homes will be built to accommodate rising housing demands in Marion County. Marion County Development Commission projects a for-sale housing need of 198 homes by 2025 in the Pleasantville area alone.

Anthony VerMeer, owner of the VerMeer Group, the parent company of VerMeer Development Inc says why Pleasantville is perfect for the project.

“Marion County needs more housing options for our residents. The county and town of Pleasantville has a lot to offer with the recreational activities at Lake Red Rock, the strong school district, and just a 20 to 30 minute drive to Des Moines. Our goal is to break ground in early August.”

VerMeer Development Inc. plans to finish developing the first 9.5 acres by the end of 2017 as a part of phase 1 providing 24 lots, and will continue developing the additional 12.5 acres as a separate phase 2 at a later date with an additional 30 lots.
