At the most recent Pella School Board meeting, the board approved an updated wellness policy for classrooms in the upcoming academic year.
Superintendent Greg Ebeling tells KNIA/KRLS News the changes center around the goal of bettering the health of students. Ebeling says the updates include more specific language aimed to curb the amount of sugar given to students by educators.
Changes to how school lunch offerings are presented will also be added in a way to encourage students to eat healthier during lunchtime.
