The PCM softball team bats were out in full force on Saturday, as the Mustangs scored 45 runs in just three games en route to a 2-1 record at a tournament in Bondurant.

The Mustangs rode a strong start from Kayla Jennings in game one against Hampton-Dumont, as she picked up the win in the circle and the Mustangs ran up against the time limit in a 12-3 five inning win.

Game two was high scoring on both sides, as the Mustangs fell to Roland-Story 14-15. Jennings hit a go ahead grand slam late in the game, but the Norseman strung together just enough hits to win.

Game three saw a big rebound from PCM, as they blew out Grandview Christian 19-4. Maya Hegwood got the complete game win in the circle. PCM improves to 7-1 on the season, and travel to South Hamilton Monday night.

On the baseball side, the Mustangs were scheduled to play a pair of games at the Albia tournament, but due to an injured umpire could only get one game in, a 14-3 five inning win. Dane Owens pitched all five to pick up the win, and the three runs he gave up were all unearned. Reed Worth had three RBI with a 2-4 day at the dish, while Preston Van Wyk went 2-4 with a pair of RBI’s. The Mustangs improve to 5-3 on the season and join the softball squad at South Hamilton Monday night.
