Pella Christian stole eight bases en route to a 4-3 come-from-behind victory last night over the Pella High baseball team in a game heard live on www.kniakrls.com.

The Little Dutch struck first, scoring three runs in the bottom of the second inning on an RBI single by Ben Tysseling and a two-run single by Gabe Thomas.

After leaving two runners on in each of the first two innings, the Eagles finally got on the scoreboard in the third and fourth innings, scoring twice in each frame.

Lawson Bruxvoort and Devin Haveman delivered back-to-back RBI hits in the third, and Pella Christian scored in the fourth on a Pella error and a bases loaded walk drawn by Bruxvoort.

The Eagles stole three of their eight bases in those decisive third and fourth innings.

Will Dembski reached all four times for Pella Christian, including three of the Eagles eight hits, and he scored a run. Landon Vander Leest led the Little Dutch with two hits.

Isaac Vander Hart went the distance on the mound for Pella Christian, allowing three runs on six hits while walking one, hitting a batter and striking out eight.

Pella Christian is now 4-1 on the season and starts Little Hawkeye Conference play at 1-0. Pella is 2-2 and 0-1. The Eagles will take the day off, while the Little Dutch host Chariton tonight.
