For the second straight night, the Pella Christian softball team bounced back from a game one loss to split with an Indians team, this time at Oskaloosa last night.

The Eagles lost game one 5-3 and took game number two in a nailbiter 2-1.

Pella Christian jumped ahead of Osky in the opener with a three-run fourth inning, including a two run single by Natalie Vos. But four straight hits–including two errors, spurred the Indians rally in the bottom of the 6th inning to the tune of five runs.

Natalie Vos set the pace for Pella Christian in the circle of game number two, scattering five hits in 6 1/3 innings of work for her second straight win, giving up an earned run in the seventh. Emma Schnell, after dropping game one despite a good performance, came in to get the save with two runners on and one out. Oskaloosa threatened late, with infield ground balls strung together to score one run, but they left the tying run at 3rd.

Head Coach Karen Harrill tells KNIA/KRLS Sports while they were happy to salvage a split with Oskaloosa, she was hopeful they could get a sweep.

The win in game two gives the season series to Pella Christian, and their 11-4 conference record keeps them in first place in the Little Hawkeye Conference by virtue of a tie-breaker in the loss column with Indianola. The Eagles join the baseball team back at Eagle Lane tonight for a single matchup with Grinnell.
