At this week’s Pella School Board meeting, those running again for seats in the September election made their intentions known.

Pella School Board President Joan Corbin and Gregg Gustafson both plan to run again, while Michelle Van Maanen will allow her term to expire. Superintendent Greg Ebeling says residents living east of Main Street in Pella are eligible to participate in the election for the vacant spot.

Ebeling says the Physical Plant and Equipment Levy is also up for renewal, which allows the district to maintain their technology and facilities. Ebeling adds that no new tax increase would result from approval of the levy, but says the funds are vital in keeping Pella competitive among the best districts in the state with facilities.
