The Pleasantville baseball team blew out Marion County rival Melcher-Dallas last night 17-0 in just four innings, while the softball team hung tough with the defending state champions Van Meter in a 5-4 defeat.

Gauge Van Haalen went 2-4, Cael Lester went 2-2 with a double, and Quinton Berglund was 2-3 with a home run. Pleasantville improves to 3-2 on the season. The softball team dropped its second straight to a ranked opponent in as many nights, Mackenzie McGriff had a double and a triple with three runs batted in, and Josie Sowers and Katelyn Sandholdt each went 2-4. The softball team falls to 3-3 on the season, and both Pleasantville squads host Wayne tonight.
