The Pleasantville High School Softball and Baseball teams will play in the Strikeout for Cancer games on Tuesday, June 27th.

Pleasantville Head Softball Coach, Marcy Roff tells KNIA/KRLS News she lost her mom in January to a rare form of cancer and she believes dealing with the struggle and knowing other community members have as well, she thought it was a good opportunity to start up the event. Helium balloons will be available for purchase in memory of or in support of a loved one, and a ceremony to launch balloons will take place on the field between games. Pledges can also be made for the number of runs scored, RBI’s, and home runs hit. There will also be silent auctions held throughout the evening. All proceeds from the games will be donated to the American Cancer Society. The night will begin with the Junior Varsity games at 6 p.m.
