The South Central Regional Airport Agency reviewed finances of the previous fiscal year and discussed the latest surrounding the regional airport project at their quarterly meeting Tuesday.

The board reviewed an audit from Van Maanen, Sietstra, Meyer, and Nikkel into last year’s budget. Updates were provided about the ongoing process of the environmental assessment and how legal and engineering services needed to be acquired for the potential land acquisition phase of the overall project.

During the public forum, the SCRAA board was asked about additional concerns in the environmental assessment documents not containing language for the replacement of 220th Street and the omission of the Prairie Wind Farm being constructed by Mid-American Energy. No discussion was held regarding the Mahaska County Board of Supervisors vote last week to leave the 28E Agreement with Pella and Oskaloosa, and Joe Warrick was not present after Mahaska County Board of Supervisors Chair Mark Doland informed him his service was no longer needed.
