The Marion County Board of Supervisors met in regular session Tuesday.

The board heard a request from Knoxville Public Library Director Roslin Thompson to help fund the Library’s Capital Campaign. The board voted to approve the request for $25,000 to be paid out over a five year span. The board approved the request for $25,000 to be paid out over a five year span. The board approved revisions to a 28E agreement for a memorandum of agreement with Iowa Department of Transportation regarding county issuance of driver’s licenses and identification. They also received and filed the Marion County Treasurer’s semi-annual report. The board held a public hearing to fix a typographical error found in the Marion County Ordinance 2017-52. They also approved the 1st reading of the corrected ordinance and waived 2nd and 3rd readings. The supervisors heard Marion County Engineer Tyler Christian’s annual review and established his fiscal year 2018 salary with a 2% salary increase that correlates with the 2% increase the engineer’s staff has already received. The board also approved the fiscal year 2018 Marion County budget expense appropriations.
