The Pella City Council approved the final scheduled water rate increase tied to improvements at the water treatment facility at their meeting this week.

City Administrator Mike Nardini says a seven percent rate jump will be reflected on the City of Pella bills due in September. According to city staff, the rates will remain comparable with nearby communities of similar size.

He says the resolution is the third increase made over the past three years to pay for more than $14.5 million in improvements to the city’s water system. Upgrades at the Water Treatment Plant will be completed this fall. Hear more from this week’s Pella City Council meeting on Let’s Talk Pella.
