A quintet of local athletes were named to the Iowa Girls Coaches Assocation’s All-District softball teams.

Pella Christian seniors Emma Schnell and Elizabeth Van Manen were both named to the class 2-A southeast district team, while Pleasantville junior Andie Sowers was selected for the southwest district team in class 2-A.

In class 3-A, PCM seniors Jayci Vos and Kayla Jennings were selected for the Central district team.

All five of those girls are now eligible for all-state recognition. The 2017 all-state teams will be announced after the state softball tournament, which is taking place this week in Fort Dodge.
