If it is not an exciting down to the last out finish, then it is probably not Knoxville Baseball. The Panthers split their double header last night against Davis County falling 11-10 in game in in nine innings. The Panthers led early but gave up the lead to Mustangs in the fourth, only to tie it back up at five in sixth inning. Another lead of 7-6 after a Ben Wallace home run only to see Davis County tie it back up at seven and head to extra innings. The Panthers appeared to be in good shape plating three runs in the ninth, but Davis County got four to win. In game two, more of the same, but Knoxville had to come from behind late to get the win as Knoxville was trailing 5-0 after four innings. Riley Spaur tied the game at five in the seventh, another Ben Wallace homerun plus more timely hitting made the final score 11-5 Knoxville as Rylan Cox closed out the game. The Panthers are now 23-6 on the season and finish 16-2 in the South Central Conference. Knoxville will play at Pella on Monday.
