In a season of struggle for the young Lady Dutch Softball team, a doubleheader with Grinnell proved to be triumph with a 12-2, 11-2 pair of wins, as heard live on KNIA.

Pella struck for two big innings in the 2nd and 3rd of the first game with four and six runs respectively, and two big frames in the second contest in the 2nd and 6th.

Head Coach Robin Llewellyn tells KNIA/KRLS Sports it was a much needed night for the offense to string together big rally after big rally.

Kinzi Van Wyk had five hits over the two games and earned the win in the circle in game one, Madison Rempe hit a three-run homer in game one to bust it open, and every Lady Dutch batter reached safely with a hit or walk in game two. Courtney Thompson and Ally Almond each had 2 RBI in the nightcap.

Pella improves to 8-27 and clinches seventh place in the Little Hawkeye Conference. They wrap up the regular season Monday at home against Perry.
