On Thursday, the Marion County Community Foundation donated a check for $3,500 to the Knoxville Food Youth Initiative.

Curt Schwanebeck with the foundation tells KNIA/KRLS News the foundation board likes new ideas and things that are different and KFYI had a little bit different approach and sounds like a promising program. On Friday, the foundation also donated a check for $1,500 to Habitat for Humanity of Marion County. Schwanebeck says the $1,500 will go to helping with a new computer database that will streamline all of the information used at habitat’s local office from volunteers, to home owners, to donors and more.
