The Knoxville Public Library held their Outdoor Day Wednesday morning.

Children from around area who participated in the summer reading program were treated to games, carnival rides and prizes as a way to celebrate their reading accomplishments. Children’s Librarian Holly Shelford tells KNIA/KRLS News the library had a nice turnout for the summer reading program which included 502 participants. She says she is still working on completion totals but she filled out many prize bags for Wednesdays event. Shelford says the friends of the library helped put on the event as well as Community First Credit Union, Smitty’s Kids Entertainment, and the Knoxville Morning Kiwanis.
